Whitney Houston and Dana Bash
Whitney Elizabeth Houston, born 9 August 1963 into a musically inclined family in Newark New Jersey is the daughter of the gospel singers Cissy Houston as well as John Russell Houston Jr. They are also cousins of singer Dionne Warwick. At the age of a small girl, Houston started singing professionally with the church choir. She sang backing vocals for Chaka Khosns 1978 single Im Every Woman with her mother. Her mother, Jermaine, and Lou Rawls were some of the artists she backed up. She was also briefly modeling for Seventeen magazine in the year 1981. Her singing with New York-based band Material brought attention to major record labels, including Arista. She signed with Arista in 1983, where she was a part of the company for the remainder of her professional career. In 1985, the debut of Whitney Houston was the best-selling debut album of all time. The album All My Love was released in 1985 and was a top one hit. The album's debut US year the album had sold more than 3 million copies. After that, it was to be purchased by 25 million people worldwide, earning her the first Grammy. The Whitney sequel in 1987, featuring the singles Where Do Broken Hearts GO and I Wanna Dance With Somebody helped to build on the success of her debut album. But it was it was the 1992 film The Bodyguard that solidified her standing as one of the most well-known performers. The film, and her performance in it was not appreciated, but the soundtrack and her rendition of the song by Dolly Parton I Will Always Love You charted for several months in the charts, and she sold more than 44 million albums and singles worldwide. When she gave birth to her daughter Bobbi she married Bobby Brown of the ex-New Edition group. At this point that her widely documented drug use began and by 1996 she was an everyday addict.
Dana Bash (also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz) is a CNN anchor and political reporter. She hosted a variety of weekend programs on the network, which include Evans & Novak: Late Edition" and Inside Politics." She has previously worked for NBC as well as CBS.
